8 Central Stamford Neighborhoods You Should Visit

Diverse, beautiful, and thriving – that’s how we see Central Stamford. Close enough to the wooded loveliness of North Stamford and the high energy of Downtown Stamford, this area is home to eight great neighborhoods you should definitely check out.

Belltown

Part of the Belltown-Glenbrook-Springdale neighborhood grouping, this enclave emphasizes the importance of community through village centers and a shared vision of a higher quality of life. Belltown is also considered as one of Stamford’s more family-friendly neighborhoods, perfect for growing families or those interested in starting one. Green spaces, country clubs, and golf courses abound in the area.

Bulls Head

The neighborhood of Bulls Head is best known for the 24-hour diner that shares its name. Modest homes and easy access to Downtown Stamford make the community attractive to young professionals who want to experience what the area has to offer.

Hubbard Heights

Usually included as part of the West Side area, it is said that taking a stroll in Hubbard Heights is like taking a trip down the Stamford memory lane. Tudor, Colonial, and Ranch-style homes are some of the gems you’ll find in the neighborhood, which once became an enclave for affluent Stamford residents.
Mid-Ridges

Aptly named for its location between Long Ridge and High Ridge Roads, the neighborhood of Mid-Ridges is also right in the center of everything. A primarily single-family residential community, Mid-Ridges is home to a mix of great housing options in all manner of architectural styles. Gracious Colonials, however, stand out from the rest.

Newfield

One of Stamford’s family-oriented neighborhoods, Newfield is a charming community composed of dignified Colonials built on expansive lots. Its central location allows it to be within close proximity to Downtown Stamford, shopping and recreational areas, as well as green spaces.

Revonah Woods

Quiet, wooded, and romantic, Revonah Woods is one of Stamford’s hidden treasures. Lush green vegetation covers the picturesque neighborhood, which comes alive with blooms come summer. What’s most surprising is that this tranquil community, with its shaded, quiet streets, is less than a mile away from Downtown Stamford. Housing options come in an array of classic architectural styles, such as Georgian, Tudor, and Federal.

Ridgeway

Known for its famous shopping center, Ridgeway is the neighborhood to be if you want live in close proximity to Stamford’s unique assortment of local shops, dining establishments, recreational avenues, and schools. Single-family homes, upscale apartments, and townhomes are some of the housing options available in this thriving neighborhood.

Turn of River

Located south of the Merritt Parkway and east of Mid-Ridges, residents of Turn of River enjoy the neighborhood’s own collection of local shops and restaurants. You’ll also find a mix of single-family residences, condominiums, and townhomes in the area. Other neighboring communities include Roxbury, Westover, Newfield, and Downtown.
