You can visit the historic home of Rev. John Ely which is on the National Register of Historic Places. You can also visit the Seth Seelye House, which is now the Bethel Public Library, and then enjoy a delicious cone from Dr. Mike’s Ice Cream! Headquartered in Bethel, CT is Duracell Inc., the American manufacturer of alkaline batteries. Historic Downtown and the Route 6 Corridor offer a variety of shopping and entertainment opportunities ranging from small boutiques, eateries, antique shops and a movie theater to larger, nationally recognized, businesses. The town also offers six town parks, two state parks and open space provide areas for outdoor recreation such as biking, hiking, fishing, camping, picnicking, and playgrounds. Bethel real estate is made up of mostly single family communities such as Chimney Heights, Codfish Hill and Plumtrees. Conveniently located near Interstate 84 and with a train station on the Danbury Branch of Metro-North’s New Haven line, New York City is just 60 miles away.
