Programs at the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra

Norwalk Symphony OrchestraThe Norwalk Symphony Orchestra offers several unique programs for young musicians, providing them with opportunities where they can improve their skills and showcase their musical talents.

(Not) Just For Kids

The (Not) Just For Kids program is a fun and educational way to get kids into music. Members of the orchestra will be available to play in front of the children, tell them all about their instruments, answer questions, and offer helpful advice.

The presentations include all instrument families: brass, percussion, strings, and woodwinds. At the end of each program, all attendees get to handle and try to play a beginner-level instrument in a segment called “Petting Zoo.”

Programs that cover the strings and percussion instrument families are already completed. The horns program is scheduled for March 4, 2017, while the winds program will be on May 6, 2017.

The events will be held at the following times and locations:

  • 11am – Washington Carver Community Center (7 Academy St, Norwalk, CT)
  • 1pm – Lamb Room t New Canaan Public Library (151Main St, New Canaan, CT)
  • 3pm – Wilton Library (137 Old Ridgefield Rd, Wilton, CT)
