Family-Friendly Activities in Fairfield County, CT

July 14th, 2015 | Higgins Group Real Estate

Meet new friends and build relationships through the following activities in Fairfield County.

1. Join a guided spring hike. Nothing is more refreshing than a spring hike after months of cold, hard winter. Popular guided hikes include Battle of Ridgefield Walk in Ridgefield, Hike Squantz Pont in New Fairfield, Compass Challenge in Stamford, and Spring Peepers Night Hike in New Canaan.

2. Check out ancient maps and sea charts. Whether you’re an aspiring cartographer or you simply have a thing for maps, the Bruce Museum in Greenwich is a great place to bond with your kids and, at the same time, learn some history. If you do want to see these gorgeous maps for yourself, hurry, as the exhibit “(Re)Discovering the “New World”: Maps & Sea Charts from the Age of Exploration” ends on June 3, 2015. If ever you miss it, however, there are still plenty of things to check out in Bruce Museum.

3. Share a glass of apple cider. The annual Cider Saturday and Harvest Celebration at New Canaan Nature Center is always a great place to spend time with family, meet new friends, or reconnect with old ones. Bond over cider-pressing demos and tastings in this autumn festival in Fairfield County.

4. Dress up and go to a Halloween Costume Party. Open for the young and the young-at-heart, the Monster Mash party in Norwalk’s Stepping Stones Museum is one fete to be spotted in if you’re looking for some family-friendly fun.

5. Need a break from the kids? Go on an epic night out. Head out with your friends for food and drinks in South Norwalk, where you can find a tasteful selection of upscale nightclubs and dining establishments. Affectionately called “SoNo,” South Norwalk is known for its thriving restaurant and nightlife scene.
